Rudrabhishek is the general Shiva seva, taken on Somvar, Shivratri and through Sawan. The Mahamrityunjaya jaap is the one prescribed for long illness and for fear of untimely death. Where a graha is the concern — Kaal Sarp, Mangal, Shani — the seva is taken at the kshetra named for that graha.
