About Shri Vishnupad MandirShri Vishnupad Mandir in Gaya is held in the Gaya tradition to be the supreme pind-daan sacred site, where Vishnu's footprint is impressed on the Vishnupad slab. Pind-daan and tarpan here are believed to liberate ancestors across the family line.
How the ritual is performedThe til-pind tarpan and three-generation pind-daan are carried at the Vishnupad slab in your pitru naam-gotra, on the Bhaumvati Amavasya muhurta.
Why DivyachadhavaDevotees want the sankalp carried with care — a clear ritual, a clear video, and a clear pitru naam-gotra before the deity.
On 14 July 2026 a Bhaumvati Amavasya falls — an Amavasya on Tuesday, the day of Mars (Bhaum). At Shri Vishnupad Mandir in Gaya, the supreme pind-daan sacred site, this rare alignment joins Mars the debt-remover with the ancestors' own Amavasya, so a single tarpan can clear both worldly debt and ancestral debt. Devotees gather for naam-gotra pind-daan and til-tarpan before the Vishnupad slab.
