About Shri Kaal Bhairav MandirShri Kaal Bhairav Mandir at Ujjain is the abode of Kaal Bhairav, the Kotwal of the ancient kshetra of Avantika — the fierce guardian who keeps the accounts of the land, before whom madira is offered in the old way, and who is revered as the daridrya-nashak who drives out want. Magha Kala Ashtami, the Krishna Ashtami of Magha that is Bhairav’s own tithi, is a day devotees turn to him under the weight of debt. On this tithi a sankalp is offered in your naam-gotra so that the cords of a binding debt are cut, daridrya is driven from the home, and earnings begin to stay and grow before the Kotwal’s watch. This is offered as faith and tradition; it is not a financial guarantee, and never a substitute for the practical steps a debt needs — honest effort, repayment and sound advice — which the prayer is meant to strengthen, not replace.
How the ritual is performedThe Magha Kala Ashtami rin-mukti and daridrya-nash sankalp is carried at Shri Kaal Bhairav Mandir, Ujjain, in your naam-gotra, on Bhairav’s tithi, with black til, sindoor and a chola before Kaal Bhairav.
Why DivyachadhavaDevotees want the sankalp carried with care and reverence, a clear ritual, a clear video, and a clear naam-gotra spoken before Kaal Bhairav at Ujjain.
