About Shri Kamadgiri MandirShri Kamadgiri Mandir stands at Chitrakoot, the sacred kshetra where Bhagwan Ram, Mata Sita and Lakshman spent the greater part of their vanvas. Kamadgiri — the wish-granting hill worshipped as Kamadnath (Kamtanath), a living form of Ram — is circumambulated on a roughly five-kilometre parikrama that passes Bharat Milap, Mukharvind and many shrines. The Sanskrit "Kamad" means the granter of desires: by long tradition Ram blessed the hill that its darshan and parikrama fulfil the sincere wishes of every devotee. Families bring a heartfelt manokamna here — an awaited videsh-yatra, a cherished wish, a parikrama-sankalp — and lay it before Kamadnath for Ram kripa.
