On auspicious days — Wednesdays, the start of a new financial year, or after closing an important deal — distributing a small sweet to customers or staff is considered a gesture that invites goodwill, positive energy and continued prosperity into the business relationship.

For opening a new shop, launching a new venture, or making a major business decision, choosing an auspicious muhurat (based on panchang, day and personal horoscope where possible) is a long-followed tradition believed to set a smooth and successful foundation for the enterprise.
