About Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, Mandhata IslandShri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga rises above the holy Narmada in Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, the fourth of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Its sacred island carries the form of the ॐ syllable, and Omkareshwar is worshipped as a self-manifest, moksha-giving form of Mahadev. Through Sawan, the holiest month, pilgrims throng its ghats for jalabhishek and Rudrabhishek in the Narmada’s holy waters.
