Chhath is the four-day vrat kept for Surya Dev and Chhathi Maiya, in which arghya is offered standing in the water at sunset and again at sunrise. It is among the most demanding vrats kept in Bharat, and the ghats of Kashi and Bihar are its principal sthaans.
